

The Figure's hitbox extends to its arms, meaning that touching its arms (even when the player is a distance away from its body) will be lethal.Touching the Figure in any way will always be fatal.It then falls off into an unknown underground part of the Hotel.

As the elevator continues to descend, the Figure suddenly jumps onto it, tearing off the elevator cable, and thus plunging it into a free fall. Once the player completes the Circuit Breaker Puzzle, the Figure will bang on the door behind the player 3 times until it breaks it down, then it will run to the player at a speed much faster than the player's running speed.Īt the elevator, the Figure violently bangs on the door desperately trying to get the player as the elevator descends. Then, the player has to complete the Circuit Breaker Puzzle which has been buffed due to the update. It runs around slamming into the walls before smashing through a window. A spark produced from the wire causes the oil to ignite and set on fire, burning the Figure and sending it into a state of panic. Once all the fuses are inserted into the circuit breaker box, a cutscene plays where the Figure walks on a puddle of oil on the floor with an exposed electrical wire touching it. It can sense the player's heartbeat from a further range than before however, the Figure cannot "see" the player anymore after the Hotel+ update. After the player hides or loses the Figure, it will start walking around the hallways as the player searches for the 10 fuses on the shelves.

When the gate is opened, the Figure will bust through a door to the upstairs before running down the stairs and going after the player. The player will be able to go faster than the Figure for a short time with the use of vitamins. Before collecting 3 books the player will be able to outrun it, but once the third book is collected, the Figure will be faster. The Figure's walk speed increases by 0.75x for every book collected in the Library.

This can be fatal, and in multiplayer, some teammates could also be killed.

Do note that if the player hides, it will attract the Figure due to the sound it makes. Players are given one warning after missing a beat, but after a second failure the Figure will pull them out of the closet and decapitate them, resulting in instant death. The Figure may detect a player that is hiding in a closet, making said player play a mini-game, where they must time their heartbeats until the Figure leaves. If it hears a noise caused by a player, such as running or walking (it is recommended to stay crouched when in the Library), the player grabbing books, interacting with the padlock, or if the player hides, the Figure will run towards the direction of said player/sound. Warnings of it knowing where the player include its footsteps become louder and faster and/or the shrieking noises are loduer than usual. The Figure is completely blind and will wander around the Library as it feels with its hands. (The lamp in question is said to be knocked over by Guiding Light, due to the shining light where the Figure runs off to, with the goal of distracting it). A moment later, a lamp falls onto the ground and shatters, causing the Figure to run towards the broken lamp and investigate. When first encountered, a cutscene will play, in which the Figure roars, then starts running at the player from behind a bookshelf, due to the noise made from the door opening. The Figure can also emit a type of light or bioluminescence out of its mouth when emitting sounds, which many people speculate is the Figure's way of finding players (and possibly a form of echolocation) aside from its hearing (see jumpscare or the Figure checking closets). It also has four extra joints on its arms and legs, unlike a human. The Figure seems to resemble the Demogorgon from Stranger Things and the Sand Worm from Dune. The Figure also has a scar on the top of its head. Green tubes can also be vaguely seen around its body, along with cysts on the back of its head. The Figure takes the appearance of a massive brick red, humanoid entity consisting of a head with a large circular mouth with randomly aligned razor-sharp teeth, and a body with clay-like texture and an external ribcage.
